Ellis, Richard

Fortin, Louise

- I graduated from Manikoutai, English Section, in June of 1972. That same month my best friend, and fellow graduate, Monique Barthe, became part of my family when her sister Elise married my brother Pierre. I worked for Musuems Equipment for a few years, then IOC, then Wajax. I married Pierre Tremblay of Sept-Iles, in 1982. We had our daughter (now 17) in Sept-Iles then moved to Orleans, Ottawa and lived there for 9 years. During this time our son Philippe (now 16) was born and I worked for the Federal Government for 7 years. Then we moved to Labrador City for 7 years (NOT my choice, but rather a career move for my husband). All that patience (and freezing!!) paid off.
- It is now summer here in Melbourne. The temperature rarely goes below 25C and is often upper 30's low 40's....I love it!! The ONLY hard part about being "downunder"is the fact that we had to leave our daughter behind as she started university last September at the tender age of 16. We are hoping to stay here for a few years, but.... One thing for sure is we are definately here until July 2001. Our future plans are to return to Ottawa to live.
- This is an update (May 2003) since the last time I wrote we were living in Melbourne, Australia. Lots of changes since then, IOC who had been bought out by North was bought out again by Rio Tinto, so my husband's contract ended earlier than expected. We came back to Ottawa so that our son could finish his highschool. We are on the move again. We sold the house in January and we are heading for Trois-Rivières for a year or possibly two. My husband now works for Alcoa.
- This weekend I had a lovely visit with Monique Barthe McDuff. She lives in Tumbler Ridge, B.C. with her husband, Bill, and youngest daughter, Monica. The other two children William and Nina live in Victoria, BC. We had not seen each other in 8 years. It was great. Monique's sister, Elise who is married to my brother Pierre, also came down from Val D'Or and they brought with them their daughter Sharon and her 2 month old son. Yes that's right, Pierre and Elise are now grandparents. Oh my God! that makes Mo and me great aunts. If anyone wants to write, my email address will not change after we move in June. Everyone who remembers me can write me at : tremblay@facmail.com. Email me :)
