Bacon, Mary
- Formerly Mary "Bacon". I am now living in beautiful Victoria on Vancouver Island. I got tired of winter, snow, cold, etc. (had enough of THAT in Sept Iles....). I lived and worked in Calgary, Alberta, as a paralegal, for 20 years from 1985 to 2000. Previous to that I was married for about 9 years and lived in and around the S.S. Marie area in Ontario. I have a daughter, Tamarind Spender, who is now 25 years old, graduated with a B.A. in Sociology, and working in Guelph at a detention centre for youths.
- Some of you may remember Bob McCarthy, and the other McCarthys (Rusty, Tish, Carol Joy). I met up with Bob in S.S. Marie in the 70's while I was married, and he and his wife (Francine) and me and my hubby (Ted) all hung out together for almost 10 years. Then we all split up, divorced and went our separate ways. In 2001 I ran into Bob again when he stopped by Calgary to visit me, and we hooked up and are now engaged to be married! Both in our 50's now, we have lots in common in our history, and have gone through similar hardships and losses in our lives, and are looking forward to our future together in Paradise on Van. - My sister, Karen Cummins, passed away in 1998 as a result of cancer. She had been living in Deer Lake, Newfoundland for approximately 20 years. She is survived by her husband, Scott Pinksen, and her three sons Chris, John and Anthony.

- Hi to all of you who may read this bio, as stated earlier I have retired (1999) from the QNS&L after 32 yrs of service whereby I held several unionized and management positions. I married my wife Denise in 1973 and we have two great kids, Dennis who is doing his masters at the University of Waterloo in Mech. Eng. and Krissy who graduated Sheridan College (Data Processing) and is working for Hewlett Packard.
- Sept-Iles has been good to us and we are undecided as to whether or not we will leave the area, a lot of friends and relatives remain. I have been retired 3 yrs and life is great, (except for the aches and pains of getting older) we keep busy playing sports (golf, roller blading, ski, curling, fishing), house repairs, mechanics and travel.
