Unifoam A4P® 3/6

A4P® 3/6 is a synthetic polymer based foam concentrate capable of extinguishing a wide variety of fires, including hydrocarbon and polar solvent fires. The foam that is created is compact and capable of resisting heat, yet it can quickly knock-down fires and create a vapour barrier to prevent re-ignition. It has outstanding vapour suppression qualities, finding its place in HAZMAT applications.

At 3%, A4P® 3/6 can be used as an AFFF foam on CLASS B hydrocarbon fires. A4P® 3/6 has better burnback protection and heat-resistant foam on hydrocarbon fires than regular AFFF foam. Non air aspirating nozzles (fog) as well as low expansion air aspirating nozzles can be used.

At 6%, A4P® 3/6 is an alcohol resistant foam, used on such polar solvents as acetone, alcohols, ketones, etc., where the polymeric layer of the foam forms an impenetrable barrier against the solvents. Air aspirating low/medium expansion foam nozzles should be used for this kind of application.

Use A4P® 3/6 between 1% to 3% as a CLASS A foam or between 0.5% to 1% as a wetting agent.

Refer to Tables for for more information.

This product is biodegradable, non-corrosive and poses minimum risk to the environment.

Unifoam Flow 3

FLOW 3 is an AFFF / Alcohol resistant foam which can be used at 3% as an AFFF and at 3% for polar solvent fires. This product is freeze protected and can be used at temperatures as low as minus 25 degrees Celsius.

FLOW 3 is a new type of fire fighting foam which incorporates a new technology in alcohol resistant foams. Current alcohol resistant foam concentrate now on the market incorporate a water soluble polymer which enables the foam to resist the destructive effects of the polar solvent. Although gel-like in nature, the product is "pumpable" due to its psuedoplastic characteristics: as the shear force of the product increases, its viscosity decreases. Problems occur at low temperatures (below 0 degrees Celsius) in which case the product may thicken even more and create flow problems.

Unifoam FLOW 3 contains no polymer, having a viscosity comparable to AFFF foam concentrates. Performance is comparable to traditional polymer type alcohol resistant foams without the problems of thickening at low temperatures.

FLOW 3 is ideally suited in applications requiring low temperature protection in chemical refineries, tank farms or oil drilling platforms.

FLOW 3 can be used with fog and air- aspirating foam nozzles at low and medium expansion.

Refer to Tables for for more information.

This product is biodegradable, non-corrosive and poses minimum risk to the environment.
