- After graduating from QEHS, I went on to get a BA in history from the University of the Pacific in Stockton, Calif. and a MA in Anthroplogy from California State University, Hayward. I also studied journalism at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln.I've worked in a variety of jobs over the years, including freelance writing and working on a farm in Arkansas and a ranch in South Dakota. For the last five years, I've been arts and entertainment editor and community page editor for the Budgeteer News, a twice-weekly in Duluth, Minn., where I was born. I visited Sept-Iles for the first time in more than 20 years in 1994. It was exciting to see how much it has changed.When our family first arrived in Sept Iles, the old townsite had just been built, the streets were made out of sand and the sidewalks were boardwalks. - For those of you from the very early days I am studying at U of T at the moment completing my masters in Theology. I was ordained Deacon in the Anglican Church in Sept. and will be made priest when I finish. Meanwhile if you live in the TO area send me a note.
- (May 2004) Life has been good. I started in nursing after H.S. Married (still to)John Bloxham from St. Lambert in '66. 2 kids/ Mark teaches in the Edm. Pol. Svc. Lara is an ergonomist. Three grandboys. Retired from CN as Dir. EAP in 2001. Will be ordained Anglican priest in June/04. Live in Edmonton.
- (October 2009) Joan Farnam and I recently had a short reunion when I visited her in Grand Marais Minnesota where she lives and works as a journalist and potter. It was amazing as we probably hadn’t seen one another since about 1965 if that. I would have known her anywhere. She said that she would not have recognized me. We hope to plan a reunion along with Beryl Hill 1961 0r 2 and to take a trip to Sept Iles next year. Joan is on facebook as am I.

- Hi, Sept Iles seems to be a whole lifetime away. Hey, it is!! In 1970, I finished, finally, my BA degree at Sir George Williams.
- Life has been a series of adventures since, especially marrying Godfrey in 1971 after a five week acquaintanceship. He encouraged me to take up politics and I spent ten years as a parish councillor (grass roots democracy at work) in a semi rural community. We then moved to historic Rochester in Kent where, again, he encouraged me to apply for a teaching post in a small private school, despite having no qualifications.
- My propensity to hold my nose and dive in, has led me to become the unofficial lay person in charge of the local Unitarian Church (I became a Unitarian in 1966). Despite these demands on my time, we are able to exploit our proximity to London and to the continent.
- In 1979, my son William came along to fill an aching void and he has been a source of joy ever since. He, like his mother, finally, finished a degree in Artificial Intelligence last summer and is to begin a PhD programme in Neuroscience next autumn, funded by the Royal Commission for the Exhibition of 1851 – a Victorian institution still going strong. (Isn't it a great country!!!?)
- Fortunately, I have been able to visit my family in Canada every year, usually in Thunder Bay where my dear mother lives near my brother Wayne and his wife. Brother Jami usually flies in from Kaslo, B.C. and last Easter, my sister, Peggy, joined us from her home in Switzerland. I am hoping to fly to St. John's, Newfoundland, and drive to Sept Iles for the reunion next summer. What a great trip that would be. Good wishes to all my old classmates from another world, another time! Beryl (nee Hill).
