The History of This Space

This is the sixth rebirth of this space. As far back as 1992, this space has been occupied by me, my work and my passion. In the first year of its existence, this space was known as the LaunchPage which died a horrible death while out one day getting a double latte and croissant. I was only too happy to see it go.

A year later, this space had a new occupant... Apple Vanguard, a site geared towards Apple fanaticism and the Holy Scripture According to Steve Jobs (I never actually saw the book, although I knew it was out there). This site lasted a short time before it too met an untimely death and its only floppy disc copy was summarily tossed off a winter rooftop. And by the way, I've simmered down some with all the fanaticism, just don't get me started on Vista.

The Unknown Third Version really is unknown to me. I don't remember it much. Apparenlty its because I don't want to, at least thats what my friends think.

Artists Paint and Pixel was the fourth and longest running version of this space. A collaborative project with Mark David Gottsegen, Associate Professor of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. This version not only lasted for a very long time, but won many awards for its content and design. It's been referenced in many other websites and even a few books. I got an email ffrom a gentlleman in Dubai who was writing a book for McGraw-Hill and wanted the full url and a formal description of my site.

Everything I Am is Here was the previous version. It was my first real portfolio website. It lasted three years and has been redesigned to bring it back up-to-date. It has also been refurnished with fresh new content.

This new site is a little more condensed and cleaner with CSS and a new injection of java. Navigation has been streamlined so that all graphic art samples are on a single page and painting samples are on another. All the pop-ups have been rounded up and sent to work for Microsoft. (Or was it eBay?)

It's amazing what a new paint job and fresh coat of varnish can do for the spirit.
